In honour of Charlotte Van Amelsvoort, and her birthday on April 8th — when she would have turned 28 — our family would like to offer a complimentary photo shoot to someone or a family currently facing a deeply difficult chapter in their lives.

Charlotte lived with extraordinary strength, courage, and grace through nearly eight years of battling glioblastoma. Even in the hardest moments, she showed unwavering perseverance, determination, and a deep love for those around her. Her light, creativity, and passion for photography — seen through @charlottekareena — left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

As Charlotte once wrote, her illness gave her an alternate lens through which to see the world. While her diagnosis brought unimaginable challenges, it also brought profound meaning to her life. Through this lens, she developed a rare and beautiful ability to document the vulnerability, beauty, and humanness in others through her photography.

It is in her memory, and in the spirit of that light, that we hope to give back in a small but meaningful way.

It is our intention, as a family, to continue this gift each year by selecting a photographer whose style and passion reflects the same warmth, authenticity, and depth that Charlotte brought to her work.

This year, we have chosen Heather of @filledwithlightphotography to capture this special session. Heather held a special place in Charlotte's heart, making this session all the more meaningful to our family.

Please know that this decision will not be taken lightly. Each story will be read with care, compassion, and deep consideration as our family thoughtfully chooses one individual or family whose journey reflects the strength and perseverance that Charlotte embodied.
